Cauliflower Steak with Bacon Aioli (Keto, Low-Carb, Gluten-Free)

Keto, Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Cauliflower Steak with Bacon Aioli Cauliflower Steak with Bacon Aioli 

This is a very easy Keto friendly dish that is both delicious and filling. The cauliflower is seared in the leftover bacon fat and then steamed until tender. The aioli is made from my Homemade Mayo recipe, but you can also use store bought. Pictured with my Hemp Heart Tabouli. Only 3.6g net carbs.

Makes 1 serving.

Cauliflower Steak

1/5 of a medium cauliflower, cut into a slice through core (about 1 inch thick)
1/2 tsp. smoked sea salt (or any salt)
1/2 cup chicken stock
black pepper

2 tbsp. Homemade Mayo
black pepper to taste
1 strip bacon

  1. Preheat cast iron skillet on medium.
  2. Cook strip of bacon for aioli until desired crispiness and leave fats in pan. Remove bacon and set aside.
  3. Place cauliflower slice in pan, season with salt and pepper. Sear and flip to other side, season other side as well.
  4. Once both side are browned, pour chicken broth into pan and cover. Let cauliflower steam until it can be punctured with a fork, but still a little bit tough.
  5. While cauliflower steams, chop bacon into small pieces and add to mayo. Add black pepper to taste. 
  6. Once cauliflower is steamed, but firm, uncover and let chicken broth boil off. Cauliflower should now be soft, but hold together.
  7. Remove cauliflower from pan and top with aioli.
