Plain Jane Scones (Keto, Low-Carb, Gluten-Free)

Keto, Low-Carb and Gluten-Free basic scones.

Plain Jane Scones

These scones are gluten-free and made up of mostly almond and coconut flour. They have very little sugar and contain only 6g of net carbs. If they are not sweet enough for you, feel free to add a bit more sugar. They taste healthy and good for you otherwise. For a lower net carb scone check out these Cinnamon Scones 3.4 Net Carbs!

Makes 8 small scones.


Dry Ingredients
1 cup fine almond flour
1/4 cup coconut flour
3 tbsp. coconut sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt

Wet Ingredients
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp. melted coconut oil or butter

1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract

  1.  Preheat oven to 350° F (175° C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients well, making sure there is no large clumps of flour. You can use a sifter or a whisk to achieve this.
  3. Mix together wet ingredients in separate bowl.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix together. I usually work the dough with a rubber spatula.
  5. Divide the dough into eight pieces and shape into triangles and then flatten slightly with your hand. I usually have mine about 1 inch thick.  
  6. Bake for 9 minutes and then turn baking sheet and bake an additional 9 minutes, for a total bake time of 18 minutes.
